HOLE No More!

HOLE have officially ceased to exist, according to a statement from Courtney Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson.

"We're incredibly proud of the music we've made together," said Erlandson in the statement, "but it seems like time for both of us to move on."

"Since Geffen Records closed during the promotion of our last record, there have been a lot of distractions," said Love. "Universal's lawsuit against us made it impossible for us to find a new record company despite overwhelming interest from other labels. After three years of waiting, Eric and I have decided to put HOLE to rest. I will always treasure the time we played together. Eric has been an important part of my family for over ten years and he'll continue to be a part of my life.

"We both appreciate the amazing contributions that our other bandmates made to HOLE," said Erlandson. HOLE's lineup has included Patty Schemel, Kristin Pfaff, Melissa Auf der Maur, Samantha Maloney, Jill Emery and Caroline Rue.

"Patty is now writing and recording with me, Melissa has played with SMASHING PUMPKINS, Samantha has toured with MOTLEY CRUE and Jill played with MAZZY STAR, so I think HOLE has been a made great contributions to rock's Amazon culture," said Love. "We're also grateful that we had the support of everyone at Geffen Records, Caroline Records, Gold Mountain, Q Prime and Rosemary Carroll. All of them made important contributions to our success."

"Our fans have made HOLE one of the greatest experiences any musician could ever have," adds Erlandson. "Courtney and I are incredibly grateful for their loyalty and inspiration."

Love is currently writing and recording with former HOLE drummer Patty Schemel and ex-4 NON BLONDES leader Linda Perry, with hopes to release new music in 2003.

Eric has been collaborating with several different singers and is looking forward to a variety of projects, including songwriting, production, and possibly putting together a new band.
